St Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Primary School

St Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Primary School celebrated its Golden Jubilee during the 2005-06 school year.

The Year 6 class worked with freelancer Michael Olden.  Michael took in examples of Hastings Souvenirware and talked to pupils about how and why these souvenirs were produced.

The children then designed and made their own souvenir ware to celebrate their school's anniversary, drawing on objects around the school for inspiration.

They also considered how and why museums catalogue their collections and did the same for their own objects, completing object record cards with photos, drawings and descriptions.
