Hastings Museum & Art Gallery is a local museum with global collections, including fine and decorative arts, archaeology, local history and ethnography. There are a range of options for exploring the collections in more depth:
Local Studies Room
The Local Studies Room is open for drop-in visitors on the third Wednesday of every month. You are welcome to use this time to explore our local studies collections including, local books and directories, maps, newspaper cuttings, photographs and local interest journals and magazines.

Wednesday 20 th February 10:30 – 13:30
Wednesday 20 th March 10:30 – 13:30
The museum team can assist with research enquiries related to our collections. We are able to undertake research on the behalf of enquirers for up to 30 minutes free of charge, after this time you may be charged. When responding to your enquiry we will make you aware of any fees before we undertake any further research.

We support a wide range of projects and research into our collections. If you are developing a project related to our collections please contact us at an early stage of the project to see how we can support you. Unfortunately, we are not able to support every project that we are asked to be involved with.
