This Autumn the Long Gallery will be hung with a display of historic pictures from the Museum's collection showing the inside of local buildings. The exhibition will provide a rare view of the taste and social customs of the past - in public buildings such as shops, theatres and churches as well as in private homes. Subjects range from the elegance of Burton's St Leonards to the Gothic richness of West Hill House and 1920's comfort in the Queens Hotel. Artists represented include William Henry Hunt, William Henry Brooke, Marguerite Bayley and Gus Cummins.
