Christmas Opening Hours
The Museum is closed on 24th, 25th & 26th December. We're open as usual after that. Season's greetings to all our visitors!
The main staircase is closed off for the rest of this week for redecoration and exhibition change. The first floor galleries can be accessed by the lift or the Durbar Hall stairs.
The Grey Owl gallery and Upper Durbar Hall are closed this week whilst we install new showcases. We apologise for any inconvenience.
A Taste of Honeysett will be closed for a private community function on Saturday 22 October from 11am-4pm. The exhibition will be open as usual on Sunday from 12noon-5pm.
The Dinosaur Gallery will be closed from 9 September for essential maintenance. It will reopen on 27 September.
JMW Turner back on display! Turner's watercolour Hastings Fish-market on the Sands, Early Morning, painted in 1824, is back on display in the Long Gallery as part of the All At Sea exhibition. It will be there until Sunday 4 September -- don't miss it!
Welcome to our brand new website. It's been designed to give visitors an overview of what we do and we hope you'll find it much easier to navigate and nicer to look at. The emphasis is very much on images of our amazing collections, and we'll continue to add objects to this section.
It's also the place to find out more information about the exhibition programme and other events in our busy calendar. New events are added throughout the year, so this is where the most up-to-date listings will be. We'd particularly like to thank Alexander Brattell and Peter Roadknight for their fantastic new photographs, which have made all the difference to the look of the site.
We hope that you enjoy exploring the new site. We'd love to hear what you think - you can contact us with your feedback via the new Contact us page!
