Join the Museum Association

The Hastings & St Leonards Museum Association was formed in 1889 and is believed to be the oldest such Museum Friends group in the country. In 1892 the Association opened the Hastings Museum in the Brassey Institute, now Hastings Library, and were responsible for adminstrating and funding the Museum, for mounting displays and collecting exhibits.

The Corporation took over responsibility for the Museum in 1905, since when the Association has continued to play an important role, including the organisation of lectures, special visits and other social activities. Museum Association members receive discounts in the museum shop and for museum events.

  • £10 annual single
  • £15 annual couple
  • £95 life membership
  • £5 student

Trips and excursions

The next Museum Association coach excursion will on Sunday 19th May to Tate Britain for the 'Van Gogh and Britain'  Exhibition. There will be options to include a timed ticket at Group rate to the Exhibition and also just to travel on our coach for your own day in central London. Members will receive by email booking forms with the full details in due course. Those not on email will receive theirs by post/personal delivery. Talks

8th June: Mayor Nigel Sinden talks about his year as Speaker of the Cinque Ports. At Hastings Museum and Art Gallery. Tea and cakes will be provided.
